The casino in a few lines
Grand Villa Casino sits at 4331 Dominion St in Burnaby. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment runs it and calls it its flagship property. It is a two-level casino with a hotel and conference centre attached.
From Coquitlam it is not far. It is 15.8 km from Coquitlam City Centre and 12.8 km from the United Boulevard casino, both as the crow flies. For the route itself, TransLink's trip planner or a map will sort it out.
No closing hour here: it runs day and night, all week, through every one of the year's 365 days. The main line is 604-436-2211.
Getting in
Grand Villa is for adults. Gambling in BC is for people aged 19 and up, and anyone under 19 cannot enter a gambling venue.
Pack photo ID: since June 26, 2023, anyone walking into a BC casino must show government-issued photo ID, no matter how old they are. Security runs a scan of the ID against the restricted-entry list, which covers people enrolled in Game Break, for example. The system saves no personal information for people who are let in.
Accepted ID includes a BC or North American driver's licence, a BC Services Card, a BC Identity Card, a passport and a permanent resident card, among others. Originals only; photos and copies are not accepted. The full list is in BCLC's casino FAQ, and the flyer's first visit page walks through the door routine.
On the floor
By the published counts, it has the most slot machines in the flyer. On the floor: more than 1,300 slot machines and 67 gaming tables, plus the Pulse electronic gaming arena and a VIP gaming area.
A poker room is on site too, and it runs 24 hours, every day. The flyer leaves out a table count, since the venue's own pages give two different numbers. The poker desk takes reservations and questions at 604-453-0858.
Encore Rewards works here. Membership is free and handled at the Guest Services desk with valid ID.
Food, drink and the rest
Gateway names Personas Patio + Restaurant + Lounge and ATLAS steak + fish among the casino's dining spots. The venue's own site also lists Chow Lucky Noodle Bar, Centro Bar, Alpina Bar + Gaming Lounge and Grand Neptune Seafood Restaurant.
The hotel on site is the Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre, a Marriott property.
Grand Villa offers free parking in several outdoor lots and in a parkade that takes you straight to the front door.
Customers with disabilities will find Grand Villa accessible. Just ask for a wheelchair, accessible formats or communication supports.
